Why We Ask So Many Questions

Most companies will sell you a bottle and tell you your problem is solved. We won’t, and here is the honest reason why.

A plant is not a machine — it is an ecosystem. A healthy organism resists insects, disease, mould and fungus on its own. An unhealthy one cannot, no matter what you spray on it. Moulds and fungal spores are already in the air around your crop right now, waiting to land on something weak enough to colonize. Insects that are killed today migrate back in next week. That is why a single application, on its own, almost never holds — and why anyone promising a one-shot fix is guessing with your money.

We have seen what happens when the ecosystem gets ignored. A hydroponic operation once had an entire crop dying and wanted a product poured into the system to fix it. No one had ever run a water analysis. The water was loaded with carbonates, which were tying up every mineral being added, so nothing reached the plant and the crop was starving in a tank full of nutrients. Flush the system, run clean water, and the plants took off in two days. The answer was never in the bottle. It was in the information nobody had collected.

So these questions exist to protect your investment, not to delay it. Every answer you give lets us narrow down what is actually wrong, rule out the expensive dead ends, and design a program that fits your ground, your water, your climate and your crop — instead of a generic recommendation that fits nobody.

What we do with your answers

Your answers let us build a picture of your operation: your soil chemistry and biology, your water, your microbial populations, your latitude, altitude and season, your pest’s actual life cycle, and your economics. From that we design a demonstration with defined, measurable goals — not a vague “let’s try it and see.” You tell us what success looks like in numbers. We tell you what it costs and what we will deliver.

Section 1 — Who You Are

Agronomist, farm manager, irrigation, harvest, storage, ownership/finance — we open a shared channel with everyone who touches the decision.

Section 2 — Your Goals

The most important section. Everything downstream is designed from these answers.

50% reduction? 70%? 90%? A yield increase? A quality grade? A shelf-life target?

An untreated block, last season's numbers, a neighbour's field, or a lab standard.

Budget alone, an internal approval process, both, or something else — tell us so we can plan around it.

Section 3 — What You Are Growing

Different problem, different program.

Hedgerows, shade trees, cover crops, adjacent fields, native bush.

Sometimes the fix is a second crop, not an input.

Section 4 — Where You Are Growing

Roughly 3% of a plant's mineral nutrition comes from the soil and about 97% comes from the air — position and atmosphere matter enormously.

Weeds are a free soil test — they tell us about compaction, drainage, calcium, organic matter and decomposition.

Section 8 — Current Practices and Inputs

Ground preparation, planting, in-season operations, harvest.

Product, rate, timing.

Are there residue or certification restrictions we must respect?

Section 9 — Harvest, Storage and Transport

Silo, warehouse, cold room, open shed, sacks, bulk, temporary or long-term.

Describe the ventilation.

Mould, fungus, insects, rodents, spoilage, shrink.

Section 10 — Facilities, Equipment and Logistics

Buildings, water supply, power, cold storage, processing equipment.

Tractors, seeders, sprayers, spreaders, harvesters.

This is not a formality. GEM-treated seed arrives pre-germinated and already growing. If it does not go into the ground on the scheduled day, it is lost. A tractor in the shop or a broken chain on the seeder ruins the program.

Section 11 — The Economics

In tonnes, in percentage of crop, and in currency.

We ask directly because it saves us both time. There is a minimum below which a program cannot be executed properly, and it is better for everyone to know that on day one.

Samples, photographs, measurements, yields.

What happens next
