It is the form behind Reclamation & Remediation — read that page first if you have not, because it sets out plainly what is documented and what is not.

What this form is for, and what it is not

Breakthru has a long, documented record in revegetation. Our G.E.M.® treated seed was developed on open-pit mine sites and energy company leases, and the germination trials, seeding-rate reductions and yield demonstrations behind it are published on the main page.

The separation half is different, and we would rather say so here than in a meeting. We have not published influent/effluent performance data for the Density Alteration Process on contaminated sediment, tailings or wastewater. What this form starts is a characterised bench trial on your material, with a full assay of both output streams — what came out, what stayed in, at what concentration and throughput. Nobody should commit to a full-scale installation off a brochure figure, ours included.

Section 1 — The Site and Who Holds It

If these are different parties, say so — it changes who we need in the room.

Section 2 — The Material

Answer what you have. "We do not know" is a useful answer here and will not stop us replying — it tells us what the characterisation programme has to cover.

10. Approximate volume and depth of the material required

Cubic metres or tonnes if you have them; surface area and average depth if you do not.

11. What assays or characterisation do you already hold?

Metals, cyanide, radionuclides, hydrocarbons, dioxins/furans, leachate tests, geotechnical work. Say who produced them and when.

12. Contaminants of concern, with concentrations if you have them required

Name the ones driving the obligation, not the full periodic table.

13. Particle size distribution, if it has been measured

14. pH — and for sulphide material, any acid-generation potential testing

15. What physical state is it in?

16. Which class of tailings?

17. Is there nitrate, nitrite or ammonia in the water — for example from ANFO blasting residue?

Density separation cannot remove dissolved nitrate. If this is part of your obligation we need to know now, because the answer is vegetation, not separation.

18. Is recovery of mercury and gold a goal, and what is the legal route for holding recovered mercury in your jurisdiction?

Minamata Convention obligations usually govern this. Recovery can change the economics of the cleanup, but only if the custody question has an answer.

19. Has free-phase DNAPL been observed, and at what depth?

Creosote is denser than water and pools on the first confining layer. If anyone has logged it, that log is the most useful document you hold.

20. Which stream is this?

21. Is this active mill discharge, or legacy sediment already lying in a canal or river reach?

22. What is the water body used for downstream — irrigation, drinking supply, fishery, navigation?

Section 3 — The Obligation

23. What standard do you have to meet, and which authority sets it? required

Name the regulator and the instrument if you can. "No formal standard yet" is also an answer.

24. Is there a deadline, a closure plan date, or a bond release milestone?

25. Is revegetation part of the obligation?

26. If a certified seed is required, what are the specifications?

Species mix and proportions, certification class, minimum purity and germination, seeding rate, noxious-weed limits — and the authority or standard that sets them. If the specification exists as a document, name it.

27. Climate, altitude, slope and the target plant community

Frost dates and the length of your seeding window matter more than anything else here.

28. Is there any usable topsoil or growth medium stockpiled on site, and are there analysed reports on it?

29. Has the growth-medium stockpile on site been analysed, and do you have a report?

Who ran the analysis, when, and what it covered — texture, organic matter, pH, salinity, nutrients and metals. Name the report and the laboratory; if no analysis exists, say so and we will scope one.

Section 4 — What You Are Asking Us For

Please read this before answering: Breakthru has not published influent/effluent performance data for D.A.P. on contaminated sediment, tailings or wastewater. What we offer at this stage is a characterised bench trial on your material, with a full assay of both output streams. Nobody should be committing to a full-scale installation off this form.

Chain of custody and who signs off on the sampling plan.

32. What has already been tried on this material, and what happened?

Including anything that failed. That is often the most informative answer on this form.

33. Who has authority to approve a feasibility study and release funds?

34. What is your budget for this work?

A range and a currency is enough. Tell us whether it is approved, requested, or indicative — and whether it covers the feasibility study only or the works as well.

35. Who is in control of the funding?

The party the money actually sits with — owner, lender, government programme, reclamation bond or trust — and whether it is already committed or still to be raised.
